Tobacco plants now produce psilocybin and DMT

 

‘Researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel have modified tobacco plants to yield five psychedelic compounds at once: bufotenin and 5-MeO-DMT (from Colorado River toad secretions), DMT (a tryptamine found across plant species), and psilocin and psilocybin (normally found in mushrooms).
