And it’s also the oldest known preserved Mayan painting. ” (via Washington Post).

And, as one of my readers pointed out, it turns out that the discovery was made by a guy who lives in my neighborhood and whose child goes to my children’s school!

Long before the apocalyptic mania of the last few years began the prevailing opinion was that 2012 was the end of a large cycle in the Mayan calendar and the beginning of the next cycle.
