Singer of ‘Rescue Me’ Is Dead at 72.  That’s how she is always thought of, but I prefer to remember her for her overwhelming work with her husband Lester Bowie’s Art Ensemble of Chicago on Les Stances a Sophie, one of my favorite recordings of all time. (NYTimes obituary).
